Jetstar Announce New Miyazaki-Narita Flights

Low cost carrier Jetstar Japan announced on September 20 that they will open a new route between Miyazaki and Narita route between December 21 to March 1 next year. A questionnaire aimed at residents in Miyazaki revealed that 67% of people were in favor of seeing the new flight path open. The airline had extensive talks with local Miyazaki officials before the decision was finalized. The prefectural governor expects to see the development increase inbound tourism into the area, while the Miyazaki City mayor hopes to use the news to attract sports teams looking for locations to hold training camps in the buildup to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. A one-way ticket will cost ¥5,990. From September 21 to 25, there will be a special sale offering tickets for only ¥871, the average price of the local specialty chicken nanban.
