At the end of June, Yumi Akagi, head of the operations and planning division of JR Kyushu, was named president of JR Kyushu Fast Foods, a group subsidiary. Akagi joined the company in 1991 and has also headed the PR and sales divisions in addition to being involved with the expansion of the group’s agricultural operations. JR Kyushu Fast Foods operates the local Kentucky Fried Chicken and Mr. Donuts franchises, with 75 outlets in the region. They have annual sales of roughly five billion yen.
