JR Kyushu Posts Record April–December Results

JR Kyushu reported a 9% increase in net profit to ¥40.8 billion for the April–December period of fiscal 2025, with operating revenue and operating profit reaching record highs. Revenue rose 12% year on year to ¥360 billion, while operating profit climbed 26% to ¥62.7 billion. The gains were driven in part by a 15% average fare increase introduced in April 2025, which lifted railway passenger revenue to ¥129.4 billion, up 15%. Strong condominium sales and property transactions also supported earnings, with real estate sales revenue surging 76% to ¥22.6 billion. The company left its full-year forecast unchanged, projecting revenue of ¥489.1 billion and net profit of ¥46 billion. Source: Nikkei / Yomiuri Shimbun
