JR Kyushu Predictions for O-Bon Travel Peak Times

JR Kyushu predicts the busiest times to travel by train during O-Bon will fall between August 10 and 16. The majority of reservations for customers travelling away from Tokyo is August 11, while most bookings for journeys back to the capital have fallen on August 15 and 16. As of July 25, around 105,000 seats have been booked on the Kyushu Shinkansen (40% of the total number of seats available to reserve) during this time, while 92,000 have been booked on standard train lines (43.8%). 717,000 tickets (45%) have been reserved on the Sanyo Shinkansen line, which runs between Hakata and Shin Osaka Station, while 4,468 seats (48.7%) have also been reserved on the high-speed JR Kyushu Jet Ferry that connects Hakata and Busan.
