In conjunction with its schedule revisions to take effect next March, JR Kyushu will ban smoking on all its special limited express trains. The railroad has retained smoking cars on some of its longer runs, but decided to eliminate them at the request of its passengers. Smoking is already prohibited on the Kamome, Midori, and Sonic trains.
