July Storms Cause 188 Billion Yen in Damage

The aggregate damage suffered by Fukuoka, Oita, and Kumamoto prefectures during the July storms totaled 188 billion yen, the Nishinippon Shimbun reports. The damage to roads, rivers, and the agricultural industry in Fukuoka Prefecture alone stood at 67 billion yen. Hardest hit, however, was Kumamoto Prefecture, whose damages totaled 71.1 billion yen.
