Kagoshima companies have developed a garbage station that aims to keep crows out without requiring residents to handle protective nets. Flywalk worked with metalworking firm Welding Works after the latter’s president heard his wife complain about getting her hands dirty on rainy collection days. Five prototypes and about seven months of testing led to a design completed in April. It uses rollers to destabilize crows when they attempt to perch on the outer frame before reaching the garbage. Residents of Kagoshima’s Hirakawacho say crow damage has stopped since their station was installed in July. Source: KTS News / Welding Works X FREIWORK
