Kaho Theater in Iizuka reopened to visitors on Oct. 24 after about five years of closure. The theater opened in 1931 and hosted performers including Hibari Misora. Heavy-rain damage and the effects of COVID-19 had kept it closed since 2021. Visitors can now see historically significant equipment such as its revolving stage while renovation work continues. Iizuka plans to make the building available as a multipurpose venue after seismic reinforcement, with the eventual aim of reviving its theater operations. Source: FBS News / NHK News
