The city of Kikuike, Kumamoto Prefecture, offered for sale 20,000 sets of coupons for regional merchandise worth an aggregate 100 million yen on December 1. They had planned for sales to last the entire month, but they sold all of them in just eight days. The coupons offer a 10% discount for purchases made at registered stores within the city.
