KIT in JV to Make Ethanol from Palm Oil


The Kitakyushu-based Kyushu Institute of Technology signed an agreement on November 7 with Putra University of Malaysia and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology of Tokyo to conduct research into biomass (sustainable organic resources) for the manufacture of ethanol from the strained lees of palm oil produced in that country. KIT President Teruo Shimomura went to Malaysia for the signing ceremony.
