Three companies, including a trading company and a Mexican fluorine-related company, have successfully signed an agreement with the city of Kitakyushu to build a new factory producing fluorine compounds. Fluorine compounds are essential for the production of semiconductors and other chemical products, but most of the raw materials come from imports, making it a challenge to secure a stable supply from within the country. The new factory will be located in the Hibikinada Industrial Zone in Wakamatsu ward and is expected to begin operations in 2026. Source: Kitakyushu City / TNC
