The Kitakyushu City Board of Education announced on 19 November disciplinary action against four educators, including dismissal over a cannabis-related offence. A 33-year-old male lecturer at Wakamatsu Chuo Elementary School was dismissed after being indicted for possessing cannabis at a hotel in September in violation of the Narcotics Control Act. A 28-year-old male teacher at a municipal school received a 12-month suspension for sending sexually explicit messages to a student via social media. A 48-year-old male junior high vice principal was suspended for two months following a police investigation into alleged public indecency, while a 54-year-old male elementary school teacher was reprimanded for repeatedly shouting at pupils and using inappropriate language. The board said it would work to restore trust and strengthen training and supervision to prevent recurrences. Source: KBC
