Kitakyushu-based dry cleaner hanger manufacturer Maruso Industry has launched a crowdfunding site to finance the original manufacturing business ideas of small companies and individuals. The company believes this may be the first such effort of its kind in Kyushu. Maruso has already launched a site called Geeks (http://geeks-keyofmake.com/), where users can post their ideas, and a dedicated crowdfunding site called Geeky Factory (http://geeky-factory.com/). Maruso holds 60% of Japan’s market share for dry cleaner hangers. It hopes these efforts will eventually grow into a new business unit.
