About 50 students at Keisei High School in Kokura Kita Ward began a one-year trial allowing sunglasses to be used as part of school life. Introduced on August 26, the project is intended to protect students’ eyes from ultraviolet radiation. Participants can choose from eight types of glasses, including lenses that darken when exposed to UV light and prescription options. The initiative is being conducted with eyewear brand Zoff and is the first program of its kind at a school in Fukuoka Prefecture.
