Kitakyushu Mayor Calls for Cluster Task Force – 22 Cases in Five Days

Kitakyushu City announced eight more confirmed infections of the new coronavirus on May 27. Half of the instances involve unknown transmission routes, while others are medical workers who took care of other COVID-19 patients. A total of 22 cases had been recorded in the city during the past five days, including a high percentage of unknown transmission routes, leading the mayor to demand the national government to dispatch a special cluster control team. The new cases bring the cumulative total for Fukuoka Prefecture to 682. Sources: KBC / NHK
