The city of Kitakyushu sent a 50-member group consisting of municipal officials in the water department and representatives of 10 local companies to Haiphong, Vietnam, on the 23rd as part of the city’s effort to win business providing water supply and sewage treatment services. Among the companies represented are those manufacturing or designing water treatment equipment. Haiphong is Vietnam’s third-largest city with a population of 1.85 million, and signed a friendship agreement with Kitakyushu in April 2009.
