Kitakyushu City began emergency inspections of trees in six major parks on April 16 following a series of falling tree incidents across Japan. Certified arborists will examine between 5,000 and 6,000 trees through visual and physical checks in high-use areas such as Katsuyama Park. The inspections come ahead of the Golden Week holiday, when park visits increase, especially among families. The city has also strengthened inspections across approximately 1,700 parks since March, identifying and removing 23 hazardous trees. Officials aim to complete the emergency checks by April 27 to help ensure public safety during the holiday period. Source: FNN / Kitakyushu Official Youtube Channel
