Sumix Hall Esta, a theater for drama and concerts in Kitakyushu’s Kokurakita Ward, will close at the end of March. The theater’s owners, Sumitomo Metals of Tokyo, cites the severe aging of the facility as the reason for tearing it down. The hall was moved from another location and rebuilt at its present site in 1992. It was highly appreciated by people in theater because its lighting and acoustical equipment could be placed freely anywhere in the facility.
