After a fire caused 7 deaths in a Hiroshima hotel in May, 73 hotels in Fukuoka City were inspected for fire safety on Aug 7. 50 hotels were found to have 87 minor problems under the Building Standards Law. These included no fire escape lights, and problems with the fire escape doors. No major problems were reported but fire inspections will now be held every three years.
