The Onsen Paradaisu Kyushu website operated by Kyushu Electric Power group company Kyudenko Communications, which enables visitors to make reservations at hot spring resorts in Kyushu and Yamaguchi Prefecture, has released its rankings for the popularity of 48 resorts in the region. The spa with the most regional visitors during 2007 was Kurokawa Hot Springs in Kumamoto Prefecture, which is also a popular site in nationwide surveys. In second place was the Hirayama Hot Springs, also in Kumamoto Prefecture, which is popular for the quality of its waters. The Yufuin Hot Springs in Oita Prefecture was in third place, and is highly regarded for its views.
