The brand was launched as a project to reinvigorate the Chikugo-born weaving tradition. Students and a designer in Fukuoka created ten items with four different checkered patterns. Exhibited items can be purchased via its crowdfunding website. Shimaori Check is also eager to sell the clothes of Kurume shimaori internationally. Source: Makuake / Manu Coffee
