Kyudai and Itoshima City Join Forces to Attract Companies with a New Science Park

Kyushu University and Itoshima City have announced plans to build a science park near the university’s Ito Campus to attract companies and research institutes to the area. Science parks are typically built near universities to foster the sharing of knowledge and information among researchers, research centers, corporations and venture companies. The research institutes will partner with Kyushu University to conduct applied research and develop prototypes in cutting-edge high-tech fields, which in turn will create jobs and attract more companies to the park. Aiming to create a uniquely original science park, Kyushu University and Itoshima City expect research to focus on fields such as IT, AI, medicine, natural sciences, biochemistry and agriculture.
