Kyudai Develops Multi-variant COVID Treatment Candidate

A group of researchers at Kyushu University developed a covalent drug, YH-6, to help treat COVID-19. Professor Akio Ojida and his team succeeded in reducing the activity of an enzyme protein that supports in-body coronavirus multiplication. The discovery was published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and further research will be made to seek regulatory approval for YH-6. Source: Pharmaceutical Sciences Kyushu University
