Kyuden Opens Geothermal Plant in Sumatra

Kyushu Electric Power (Kyushu Denryoku) announced on March 22 that they began operation of a large scale geothermal power plant in Sumatra, Indonesia which lies about 350 km south of Medan. They plan to sell the electricity generated to the Indonesian National Electric Company over the next 30 years. Source: Kyushu Denryoku, 3/22
