Nissan announced its final plans for FY 2008 auto production at its domestic plants, revealing that it would cut back on initially planned production by 289,000 units, or 20.8%. It also announced an additional production cutback of 15,000 units at its largest plant, in Fukuoka Prefecture. Thus, the total production in Kyushu for the year from the country’s three largest automakers will be 995,000 units, the first time regional production failed to reach the one-million level in three years.
