Thirteen regional banks from Kyushu, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi have joined forces with Kyushu University and Taiwan’s National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to support the semiconductor industry. Through this collaboration, they will introduce regional semiconductor companies to Taiwan’s TSMC supply chain and encourage cross-border research and development. The initiative, named Q-BASS, aims to strengthen ties between Japanese and Taiwanese companies by facilitating human resource exchanges and promoting joint research projects.
