The Kyushu branch of the Development Bank of Japan revealed the results of its survey of trends for capital investment in the seven Kyushu prefectures in 2008. It found that companies in all industries planned to reduce these investments by 1.7% from the previous year, to a level of roughly 1.441 trillion yen. It will be the first such downturn in six years.
