SEMICON Japan, an international semiconductor exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 11–13, featured approximately 40 companies and organizations from Kyushu. Among them, Aura Tech from Chikugo, Fukuoka Prefecture, made its debut, showcasing an innovative nozzle capable of emitting ultra-fine water droplets at near-sonic speeds for semiconductor cleaning. The technology aims to enhance cleaning efficiency while reducing water consumption.
Aura Tech’s booth attracted 12 companies, including international firms from India and Taiwan, during the event. The company hopes its cutting-edge solution, launched in January 2024, will find broader applications in the semiconductor industry. Other notable participants included Suzuki of Oita City, which doubled its booth size to present advanced wafer-measuring tools, and six Kyushu prefectures promoting their semiconductor ecosystems, particularly in relation to TSMC’s operations in Kumamoto.
