Kyushu Construction Companies Setting up Shop in Tohoku
Several Kyushu-based construction companies have established a presence in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The move is to offset the decline in public works projects in Kyushu with work related to the rebuilding of the Tohoku-area prefectures affected by last year’s disaster. The Nishinippon Shimbun reports that of the companies heading north, three are major companies based in Fukuoka and one is based in Kagoshima. The trend is expected to continue.
