Kyushu Electric has completed construction of facilities for the trial of a new power grid using a combination of solar and wind power on Mishima-mura on the outlying island of Kuroshima. The utility hopes the new type of grid will replace the diesel generated grids now frequently used on the region’s outlying islands. The benefits would be lower costs and CO2 generation.
