Kyushu Electric Calls for 10% Cutbacks for 13-Hour Period
With the region’s nuclear power plants still idled, Kyushu Electric Power announced it will expand the time period during which it will request a minimum 10% cutback in power consumption this summer. The original time period was from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., but it will now be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The utility made the change because the periods of peak use differed depending on the user, and some people found the content of the original request difficult to understand.
