Kyushu Electric Power reported that power sales by volume in May were down 1.3% from the year-before period to 6.458 billion kWh. That is the second consecutive year-on-year decline for monthly sales. The decline was attributed to the cool May weather that limited air conditioner use. In contrast, consumption for large lot users such as factories rose 1.0% during the same period, the second straight year-on-year monthly increase among those users.
