Kyushu Land Transactions Rise

The Kyushu Economic Research Center in Fukuoka City has compiled a report on land transactions in the seven Kyushu prefectures in the January – March quarter this year. Transactions rose 0.9% from the year-before period, which is the first year-on-year rise in four quarters. It was the first increase since the Tohoku disaster last year, and the center attributes this to a wish to avoid the consumption tax increase and the impact of the full opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen.
