Electricity supply across Kyushu is expected to remain stable this summer, according to projections released on June 8 by the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators. The group said reserve margins from July through September are forecast to remain above the 3% threshold considered necessary for a stable electricity supply. Even under a scenario assuming unusually severe heat, reserve margins are expected to range from 16.5% to 4.2%. The lowest level is projected for early September, when demand is expected to peak, but it would still exceed the minimum requirement. Based on the outlook, the Japanese government has decided not to request energy-saving measures from households and businesses this summer. Kyuden Transmission and Distribution also said it expects to maintain a stable power supply throughout the season. Source: KBC News / TNC News
