Due to the success of the Kyushu Reconstruction Discount Tickets which went on sale earlier this year, another batch of tickets will be available from Sep. 9 (Fri.). The aim of the tickets is to help Kyushu’s tourism sector recover in the wake of the Kumamoto Earthquakes, and they are subsidised by the government. They can be used for travel between Oct. 1 (Sat.) and Dec. 28 (Wed.), and cover lodgings and travel packages (day trips) within Kyushu (and are available to Japanese and non-Japanese tourists alike). Lodgings and packages are up to 50% off in Kumamoto and Oita, and up to 40% off in Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Miyazaki and Kagoshima Prefecture.
