Kyushu Sees Record 430,000 Foreign Visitors

The Kyushu District Transport Bureau reported a 21% year-on-year increase in foreign arrivals to Kyushu in May, reaching a record 434,781 people. This marks the third consecutive month of record highs. The increase was driven by expanded international flights at Fukuoka Airport and a weak yen. Including cruise ship passengers who entered with simplified procedures, total arrivals reached 494,358, surpassing the previous peak from August 2017. Source: Kyushu District Transport Bureau
