Kyushu Sees Tourism Rebound Over Silver Week

During the four-day weekend between Oct. 19 ~ 22, Kyushu’s area saw a surge in regional tourism. ANA reported seat occupancy of approximately 75% for the flights between Fukuoka and Haneda, doubling from August’s obon holidays. Seat occupancy rates for flights on JAL also surpassed 90% between Fukuoka-Haneda and Fukuoka-New Chitose. According to research by Agoop Corp., the number of people who visited JR Hakata Station on Sep. 19 increased by approximately 50%, compared to that of Aug. 15.
