Kyushu Sumo Basho Relocated to Tokyo for 2020

The Nihon Sumo Kyokai announced the relocation of all Kyushu Basho matches to Tokyo. While the association announced the resumption of admitting live audiences to Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, it decided to cancel the tour to Fukuoka, scheduled for November 2020. The decision reflects the risk of travel involving over a thousand people for the event if it were held in Fukuoka. Instead, all matches will be held in Kokugikan. Sources: Hochi / TBS / Sumo
