Kyushu Tech and SUMCO’s Talent Development Initiative

In a landmark partnership, Kyushu Institute of Technology and SUMCO, a leader in semiconductor materials, have entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement focusing on semiconductor research and AI talent cultivation. This collaboration is set to revolutionize the way high-quality semiconductor silicon wafers are developed, crucial components in devices like computers and smartphones. The agreement encompasses various initiatives, including lectures and internships, aimed at developing expertise in AI and data science. Kyushu Institute of Technology has been conducting joint research with SUMCO since 2017 and is a part of the ‘Kyushu Semiconductor Talent Development Consortium,’ a tripartite organization involving academia, industry, and government.
