Kyushu University Captures Birth of New Star

A group of researchers at Kyushu University captured the “first cry” from a newly born star. Their report on the first detection of star formation in environments that resemble 10 million years ago was published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, explaining how gas molecules flowed at a speed of 54,000+ km/h from around the Y246 baby star. The discovery is expected to solve the mystery of the earliest star birth in the universe.
