Kyushu’s Last Steam Locomotive To Be Decommissioned

JR Kyushu announced that the steam locomotive “SL Hitoyoshi,” which runs between Tosu and Kumamoto Stations, will end its operation around March 2024 due to the aging of the steam locomotive No. 58654, which was built in 1922 and is the oldest steam locomotive still in service in Japan.
