A large scale redevelopment is scheduled to take place in the blocks surrounding Fukuoka Parco and the Shintencho shopping arcade. The construction work will take place over approximately 1.1 hectares of land to the south of Meiji-dori and form part of the city’s wider Tenjin Big Bang regeneration project. The site of the proposed redevelopment stretches from the Fukuoka Building to the plot of land where the Daimyo Elementary School used to be located and hopefully help improve accessibility in the center of the city.
