Pierre Littbarski, coach of Avispa Fukuoka in the J2 soccer league, will stay on as coach of the team, it was reported. Earlier this month, the club said it was displeased the team’s play and would use the next three matches to determine Littbarski’s fate. The team lost all three, and moves were started to find a replacement. It was finally announced that Littbarski, a member of West Germany’s three-time World Cup winning team, would stay on because there were signs that the trend of the team’s play was headed in the right direction.
