Local Governments Hiring Staff to Fight Unemployment

Local governments are creating positions for people who lose their jobs due to the impact of the coronavirus. The mayor of Beppu City, Oita, announced on April 13 that the city would hire 500 such persons as temporary staff. The position will be for up to one year with monthly pay of between ¥60,000 ~ ¥110,000 for 12~16 working days per month. Similar announcements have been made by other local governments including Fukuoka Prefecture, which plans to begin offer fifty positions by the end of April. Source: Source: Sankei 2020-04-14
