Local Sake and Shochu Added To National Export Promotion List

A total of 196 liquor producers in Kyushu were added to the export support program of the national government. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries drew up a strategy to expand exports of local products in Nov. 2020. Aiming to quintuple exports in the next ten years, the ministry would provide support and subsidies to listed companies, including 120 Kyushu-based shochu producers, 73 sake brewers, three whiskey makers, and others eager to enter the international market.
