The East Kyushu Shinkansen Promotion Council has unveiled a new logo to boost awareness and support for the proposed high-speed rail line connecting Fukuoka and Kagoshima via eastern Kyushu. Selected from 364 entries in a nationwide design contest, the winning logo—created by a designer in Tokyo—features a red arc-shaped train over a stylized Kyushu map, symbolizing progress and regional aspirations.
Although designated as a basic plan route by the government in 1973, the East Kyushu Shinkansen lacks formal development plans.
