From Love – Charity Song for Kumamoto and Oita

Darrell Smith, Fukuoka’s Piano Man, has gathered 100 Fukuoka-based musicians, narrators, writers and radio DJs to produce “From Love”: a charity song to raise money for relief work in Kumamoto and Oita after this year’s earthquakes. There is a Japanese version and an English version of the song! Darrell says he put all his sympathy and desire to help into this song, for which he wrote the music and English lyrics, and songwriter Takuto Nozu wrote the Japanese lyrics. On the From Love website, you can purchase the CD (also available as a digital download), which features both the English and Japanese versions of the song and a karaoke track for each (CD/digital download: ¥1,000 including tax). There are also official From Love T-shirts (¥2,500~3,000) and there are plans for a live concert at which this song will be performed. You can also make donations of ¥500 and up on the site. Please note: Payment is by bank transfer only. Purchaser must cover cost of the bank transfer and shipping (varies according to size of order).
