Luup Launches E-Scooter Sharing In Naha

Tokyo-based Luup has launched its electric scooter and bike-sharing service in Naha City, Okinawa. As of July 8, the company operates 150 vehicles from about 70 locations, primarily near hotels and tourist areas. Aimed at tourists and locals, the service addresses gaps in Okinawa’s limited rail network. CEO Daiki Okai announced plans to increase the number of rental points ten- to twentyfold. Riders must pass a safety test, and an Okinawa-only campaign offers free 30-minute rides until July 18. Source: Luup
