A major road construction company, Kajima Road, revealed that it used recycled asphalt materials instead of new ones in nine projects, including the Yakiyama Bypass in Fukuoka Prefecture. This follows a similar issue with NIPPO, which admitted to using recycled asphalt in 33 national projects. Recycled asphalt, while commonly reused, may have lower durability. Kajima Road has reported the findings to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and is continuing its investigation. Source: Kajima Road / NHK
