On June 9, the Fukuoka Prefectural Police arrested a male caregiver on suspicion of touching an unacquainted girl in a public restroom. According to the police, the suspect is a 23 year-old caregiver in Onojo City. He’s suspected of touching the buttocks of an 8-year-old elementary school girl in a private bathroom in a park in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, in August last year. The girl asked the suspect, who was nearby, how to flush the toilet, and when they entered the room together, she was touched on the buttocks. She asked a female acquaintance who was passing nearby for help. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault for grabbing another girl’s arm late last month, and his involvement in the case came to light during that investigation.
